Fuck yes!

“22 weeks

The fifth and final abortion amendment is Richard Ottaway’s attempt to reduce the abortion time limit to 22 weeks. MPs are going through the lobbies now.

That’s it. MPs have rejected Ottaway’s amendment by 304 votes to 233, a majority of 71.

The first major Commons debate on abortion in almost 20 years has ended with the status quo.

The anti-abortion lobby has failed to change the law. The abortion time limit remains at 24 weeks.

So, after seven hours of debate, the only substantial changes to the law are new rights for single women and lesbians seeking to have a child through IVF.”

FUCK YOU to the Anti-Choice brigade.

Going on a history trip at 2 ‘oo clock this morning 🙂 Berlin for three days, and Krakow for about three days! 🙂 I’m so excited! I’ve never been to Berlin, but I’ve always wanted to, particularly as I love Germany so much. Also, Poland’s been on my “go-to” list for a while now!

And hopefully, when I come back, I’ll have some half-decent blog posts. About stuff in general.

I am finally 18!

And drink legally and all other kinds of good stuff.

18 years of Amyness seems something to celebrate to me 🙂

I have my family all coming round for buffet and then drinks at t’pub. In fact, my Godfather is here now, so toodle-pip.

Next Sunday, I’m going to see The Police with my beloved, favouritest cousin! 🙂

I’m so excited. I love last-minute ticket changes which mean I get to see bands I love.

Also, I would like to apologise for the lack of decent posting of late, I’ve had – and still have – a bit of the ol’ writers block. I’m sure I’ll think of something worthy to write sooner or later.

But, for now…here are some Police vids…

Walking on the moon

So Lonely

To reflect my current mood.

The thing is, whenever I am in these o-so-great-everything’s-wonderful moods, they never last very long, before everything becomes mundane and average and OK. Ah well.

But, before I ruin my good mood myself…

The sun is shining, but it’s not swelteringly hot (although, I was a bit too warm in the car). So, it’s a pleasant day.
This morning, I had a job interview, which I got. Hellzyah!
Then, on to my school to get the dreaded AS level results.

And y’know? They really, really weren’t as bad as I’d feared. Actually, …they were better than I thought they’d be at best!

I was convinced I’d completely screwed up. That I would have to flagellate myself, or, I don’t know, form some murder-suicide pact. Or something. I thought, at best, I’d be mediocre (which I hate). I thought I was going to hate myself, or something.

I got an A in History!!! Huzzah! And Sociology! Hip Hip Hurrah!

I got a B in English Language! Although, if it weren’t for me fucking up the first paper (which I received an E in), I would have got an A. Ah well.

And – vunder of vunders! – a C in German. Ja! Sehr Gut! Wunderbar! Lololololololol.
That is, for me, really good. If you don’t think so, well, you’ve never heard me “talk” German. Lol.

Oh, and D in Critical Thinking, but le meh.

I must say, these results were perhaps the most pleasant surprise I’ve ever had! 🙂

Sorry to toot my own horn, but (toot, toot)…

But, also…the fun don’t stop here, folks!
I’m going Edinburgh tomorry with my best mate L, for our mutual best mate’s wedding. Edinburgh should be a right laugh, so I’m looking forward to it. Especially since we’ll have time to check things out, too.

Although, I am having a bit of trouble with writer’s block. That, and I seem to still be swaying a bit.

However, hopefully, I shall be back writing substantially soon 🙂

My holiday attire. I wore it to the pool, y’know.

I jest. We had to put ’em on for the muster station thing. Actually, it was the most amusing muster station thing I’ve been to, except my parents and I were the only people laughing. Bless the Americans, I don’t think they quite got the Britishesque humour.

Ah, it’s good to be back 🙂

Going on holiday tomorrow for about 8 days, so…most likely won’t be blogging, which makes me sad.

 However, here’s a little thought…

People sometimes seem shocked or surprised to hear that I don’t shave my legs or what have you. Of course, it is a form of social deviancy, for our social norms and values tell us women should shave their body hair off. But, really…what is so shocking or surprising? It is only natural, after all. It boggles my mind that people are so stunned by someone following a more natural route.

However, I have decided I will not be trying to hide my hair away on holiday or anything like that. I will be lounging around in a bikini with my leg hair glistening in the sun, and if people don’t like it, they can fuck right off. Although my parents are most displeased and have asked me to go and get my legs waxed, to which I respond by screaming “NO!”.
