I know I haven’t written for a while, and I have started a few drafts but felt that I had nothing new to bring to the table at this stage, and I am preoccupied with universities and revision etc, etc, blah blah blah.
Anyway, I saw this brilliant article in the Guardian’s Women section today, and then I found this post on the F-Word about the article.
I have to say that I do agree with some of the criticisms of Sex And The City in both articles, but I do love Sex And The City at the same time, and yes, I do love the shoes too : ) Sure, it’s not perfect feminist TV, but let’s face it, what is?
Mind you, I think it is fair to say that Charlotte is an incredibly annoying character.
I know, I agree – I really find watching Sex and the City enjoyable but it does have it’s bad points. One episode I really hated was the one set in LA when Samantha admits she really admires Hugh Hefner and goes to one of his playboy mansion parties!! I really hated that episode. It did kind of show it up as completely ridiculous though (the party, I mean, and the stupid little porn baron himself). I have the entire series on DVD (it was on special offer last year – £47 for the entire series!), and hadn’t realised some of the episodes were all that bad til I watched the series all the way through. Most of it is great though
Yes…Charlotte is annoying.
Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation
Anyway … nice blog to visit.
cheers, Cave.

I was thinking about this last night. What other TV programme has a woman running the tap on her clitoris in order to try and reach an orgasm?!
This is, undeniably, fantastic for women and women’s sexual freedom.
I love it.
